What a Spring Break!!

We had a fun-filled week while school was out for Spring Break! The fun began right away with a spend the night with cousins.  Each of my kids invited a cousin over to spend the night Sunday night.

I love it when St. Patrick’s Day falls during Spring Break. Parker and Dallin along with cousins Stephen and Kellen made some Leprechaun traps with high hopes of catching a Leprechaun, but those leprechauns are trickier than we thought!!  I don’t know how they managed to not get caught! :) At least they were nice enough to leave a box of Lucky Charms Cereal in one trap and some donuts and One Dollar Coins in the other!

I love the St. Patrick’s Day hats that Dallin and Parker made.

For lunch we went to my sister in law Tara’s house for a St. Patrick’s Day lunch.  Everything was green!!  collage 1

During Spring Break we even managed to get some projects done.  We weeded the yard, painted Cassie’s room and cleaned out the garage.  Woohoo! It felt so good to finally get some projects done.

You should have seen how “excited” my kids were about weeding during spring break!! :)

Wow Parker! Is that a bush or a weed??

One day I took the boys to Skateland! This was Dallin’s first time skating. I myself was a bit nervous about skating because I haven’t skated in over 20 years!! You should have seen us…Dallin and I were quite the pair! :) I think it took us 10 minutes to skate only one side of the track! After a while I decided that it would be in Dallin’s best interest to rent a Skate helper, which gave me the opportunity to try skating on my own.  I was a little slow at first but it all came back really quickly and I was cruising in no time! :)  I had forgotten how much fun skating was! I’m sure I looked really cool out there with all the kids and teenagers. :)

Stan and Parker had a Wilderness Survival campout during Spring break.  The boys were only allowed to bring the clothes on their backs and a small survival kit.  They were also required to make a shelter.

The shelter worked fine for a while, but eventually all the boys ended up sleeping by the fire.  It was a really cold night! As you can imagine, they didn’t get much sleep.

I think my favorite Spring Break activity was a hike and picnic in the desert.  We even saw a few coyotes!

Parker and Dallin just finished up basketball with PR Sports-a free neighborhood sports program put on by my brother in law Matt. They had over 70 basketball participants!

Swish!!! Great job Parker!!

We got such a kick out of watching the little boys play.  They were so cute and funny.  Dallin had a great time being on the same team as 3 of his cousins…Kellen, Hite, and Caden, and technically another cousin Mason Griner, who is a 3rd cousin to Dallin. :)

What a Star!! :) Go Dallin!
