Dallin’s 1st T-ball/Baseball Season

Dallin participated in 2 baseball teams this Spring.  We signed him up for T-ball, and then soon after that my brother in law Matt announced that he would be coaching a free neighborhood baseball team (what a guy! what a guy!!). :)  I wasn’t able to get a refund from the T-ball league, so we decided to do both.  We weren’t able to go to all of Matt’s practices because of conflicts with T-ball, but we came when we could.  It was a busy season, but I’m glad that we did it.  It was great for him to get experience in both T-ball and Coach pitch baseball.  He absolutely LOVED every minute of it!

Dallin was a good hitter and a good runner, but his favorite part was being on a base and getting the other team out! Coach Jones said that out of the whole team, Dallin did the best at concentrating and focusing on the game.  It was really fun watching him progress throughout the season.

GO GREEN FROGS!!!!

I wasn’t sure how he’d do with Coach Pitch, but he did really well in hitting those balls!

Dallin’s cousins were on the other teams-Tristan, Elly, Hite, Caden & Dallin.

Thank you Matt! You are AWESOME!

5th Grade Science Camp

Stan had the opportunity to go with Parker to 5th Grade Science Camp for 3 days in May.  Parker enjoyed having his Dad there to experience it with him.   I can’t describe their experiences in detail because I wasn’t there, but here’s some pictures for an overview of Science Camp.

Gila Valley Temple Open House

Stan had the privilege of taking some of the Young Men to the Gila Valley Temple open house on May 8th. Before an LDS Temple is dedicated, it is open to the public for viewing. It’s a great opportunity for children and youth, and also for those who aren’t members of our faith to see what a Temple looks like inside and to feel the peaceful spirit therein. Parker was able to go with Stan and thoroughly enjoyed the temple tour. The week after, Cassie was able to go with the Young Women in our ward. We don't have a picture of Cassie with the Young Women, but here’s a picture of Stan with the Young Men. It was a great experience for all of them. We are excited that in the near future, 2 more Temples will be built in Arizona…one in Gilbert and the other in Phoenix.

My New Life Video

I just love this video. If you haven't seen it yet, please take the time to watch it. You may have seen Stephanie on the Oprah show a while back. Stephanie is truly a survivor and an inspiration to so many people. I have followed her blog for a long while now (it's on my sidebar-"nienie"), and I am amazed at her faith and her strength. It's hard to understand sometimes why bad things happen to good people. But Stephanie is the type of person that doesn't ask, "Why me?" She chooses instead to make the best of her situation and realizes that there is purpose to her trials. What an amazing story.

Roberts Reunion

Every April we celebrate the lives of Grandma & Grandpa Roberts by gathering their posterity together for a Reunion.  This year we held it in the desert at Usery Park.  It’s a beautiful time of year in the desert.

Father’s & Son’s Outing

My boys LOVE the Father’s & Son’s outing and look forward to it every year.  It was a bit cold this year…it had snowed the day before, but they had a great time!

I would have to say that Cassie looks forward to the Father’s & Son’s just as much as the boys do because Father’s & Son’s means Mother/Daughter night! As soon as the boys left, Cassie and I were off for shopping, dinner and movie at home.  I love having a daughter to spend time with.

Phelps Cousin party

Every year on the day after Easter, my Dad hosts a party for his Phelps cousins and their posterity.

Cassie & Elly, and Parker & Hite enjoy a horse ride.
Cousin party 1

This is Dallin and Lindsey.  They are in the same class at school this year.  A few months ago, we went to Dallin’s first t-ball practice and were excited to see that Lindsey was there too.  Her uncle is the coach.  Lindsey’s Mom and I started talking and discovered that we were 2nd cousins! I couldn’t believe we had gone 1/2 of the school year not realizing that we were related.  Her mom (Shenla Jones) and my Dad are 1st cousins.  So this means that Dallin & Lindsey are 3rd cousins! So here are Lindsey and Dallin at the Phelps Cousin party in their River Dogs t-ball shirts (they had a game right before the party).  Fun times!
