On February 19th Cassie had the opportunity to participate in Regionals for Orchestra. Her orchestra teacher required all the members of her orchestra to audition for regionals. This is where High School Kids around the valley audition to be in a Regional Orchestra conducted by an experienced and well-known conducter. There were about 40 schools that were part of our region. Considering that Cassie is only a freshman, we weren’t expecting her to make it, so we were pleasantly surprised to find out that she made it! It was a lot of hard work for her. The pieces were really challenging, but she worked hard and did a great job. The weekend of regionals was very tiring for her. The regional orchestra practiced together all day Friday and Saturday. The performance was in Phoenix at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The orchestra sounded amazing! We were thoroughly impressed. Such a talented group of musicians. We were so proud of Cassie.
And then on the way home we saw the most magnificent full double rainbow. It was so bright and beautiful. I wish we could have taken some better pictures.
